We are happy to be back in Augusta, and this time in a home that we own and truly love! The family is still living out of boxes. I would say we have probably opened a little over half of them, perhaps more. I'm trying to work on one room at a time to keep myself motivated to continue. I like to see the completion of something versus only skimming the surface of the entire house...if that makes any sense. Of course with home ownership comes some craziness, which we knew to expect (this is coming from the person who, on her 30th birthday, purchased a brand new HVAC for $3,500 for the townhome we sold two weeks later - yeah). Our Offer Has Been Accepted!!
After what seemed like an eternity (but in fact was actually only about 48 hours, tops), our offer on a gorgeously designed custom home in Augusta has been accepted by the sellers! Praise the Lord! We are so thankful to everyone who has helped us out along the way. Our parents, families, and friends have been awesome, doing everything from scouting locations to giving real estate advice to keeping our crazy children at a moment's notice. THANK YOU! Here are a few pictures of the new place...now all we need are some visitors :-D Front of Home Kitchen Outdoor Kitchen Backyard and Playset ... [Read More]
A Big Announcement from the Eichenbergers!
(Apologies for the FIVE MONTHS of silence...four kids is a lot...yes, the fourth was born...)Our original plan when we came to Nashville was for Jake to complete a two year fellowship program in clinical informatics at Vanderbilt. We found out that since the informatics field is still fairly new, we are currently in a "grandfathering period" when it comes to qualifying to sit for the informatics boards (aka you do not have to complete an informatics fellowship in order to be eligible to sit for the boards). Enough of the medical speak...We are happy to officially announce that ... [Read More]
Moving…in ONE Week!
I have sat down at least half a dozen times over the past few months to write at least *something* on this blog, but it hasn't happened. We have SO much going on right now! The kids' activities are wrapping up - Vera had her dance recital on Saturday and I don't think it has hit her just yet that she won't be going back to class with Miss Stephanie :-( Cole had his cello recital that same day as well, and his last official lesson will be tomorrow. He will miss Ms. Garman SO MUCH! And somehow it is up to me to find "replacements" in Nashville for all of these excellent instructors...this is about to be a huge mom fail.We are in the throes of last minute extra furniture selling on Craigslist, organizing all of the kids' clothes/toys/gear that needs to be stored ...
