Part two of my favorite things are home-related items, the first of which comes from one of the greatest companies of all time: Sheets & Giggles. The product? Sheets…made from eucalyptus.
Speaking of eucalyptus…
Still one of *the* best videos of all time, but I digress. In May of 2018 I backed an Indiegogo campaign for eucalyptus bedding from Sheets & Giggles. My life was changed for the better five months later when these sheets and this duvet were delivered by my beloved UPS driver.
I have at least a little bit of experience when it comes to buying sheets, thanks to our yearly home rental for the Masters tournament. When it is time to upgrade one of my tournament sets, I pour over sheet reviews, attempting to delicately balance cotton/polyester/bamboo content percentages with thread count. I have been burned along the way, even with some of the highest rated sets. Sheets & Giggles Eucalyptus Lyocell Sheets will NOT let you down, however. These sheets are lightweight, cool, and amazingly soft…even from the first moment you get them.
In addition to having some of the absolute best customer service reps out there, Sheets & Giggles is amazingly generous. Use promo code shopaholic for a Shopaholic & Babies reader exclusive 10% off your order!
A sectional with a bazillion configurations that I can physically pick up and move myself? Yes, please. And did I mention that these suckers are fully washable thanks to removable covers? Five kids. Two dogs. Two cats. Washable is clearly NOT an optional quality in this house (and most covers are machine washable – so no trips to the dry cleaners!) The Lovesac Sactional is also quite literally the perfect sofa for my frequent, wild, “let’s revamp the entire living room setup again” design bursts.
We have an absurd number of sactional pieces plus two different cover sets and acquired everything over a few years as our family grew. Throughout the year we like to keep the chocolate padded velvet covers on and generally use all of the pieces in our main downstairs living area. For the Masters Tournament when we rent the house, we change out the covers to a gorgeous off white polylinen and set up various pieces throughout the house in bedrooms and other living spaces. Our Lovesac Sactional is one of the few items we don’t end up having to store for the tournament!

So I realize this seems like an odd thing to include in a post about my favorite things, but Zella. And Penn. So much Penn. And if you pair those two hooligans with OVAL SHAPED DOORKNOBS THROUGHOUT OUR ENTIRE HOUSE, you get utter destruction. The old school doorknob child locks designed for round knobs get pried off instantly and discarded. Thank you, Zella.
In short, I HEART OUR DOOR MONKEYS. One quick clip and I’m able to lock the two littles out of my bedroom, the pantry, the craft room, and the bathrooms. This tiny device works so miraculously. And the best part is that the Door Monkey installs and removes in seconds …with zero tools necessary. We also bring these on vacation with us for instant, portable childproofing!
Georgia officially went hands free last summer when it comes to cell phone use in your vehicle. In order to comply with the new law, we scrambled to find something simple and streamlined that would hold our phones for us while we are driving. So my honorable mention for today’s home favorites goes to this Aukey Magnetic Car Phone Mount. It’s widely available on Amazon, cheap, and sticks to most phones and cases.
One helpful hint: if your cell phone is capable of wireless charging, be sure to test out the placement of your magnet before actually sticking it on with the real adhesive. Use scotch/masking tape to temporarily stick the magnet to the back of your device. Place the device on your wireless charger with the magnet attached to see if it can still wirelessly charge. Usually you can find a spot at the bottom or top that will allow for charging.
Stay tuned for the conclusion of my favorite things (I would say tomorrow, but you just never know what today will bring…so we’ll go with soon).
