Nothing says summer like hitting 101 degrees

A few days in to an amazing #Steichler vacation with our long time friends, just when I thought our life was finally slowing down, we got the call that our oldest had booked another acting gig. We were shocked and excited…especially when we found that he would begin filming less than a week later.

Fast forward a few days – I managed to get 4 sitters to cover our atrocious post-vacation schedule. These sitters are amazing. Literally could not do life without them.
Cole is having an excellent time and has the privilege of working with yet another amazing cast and crew. He turned 10 on set and stated it was “better than any birthday party!” The Georgia film industry has provided him with so many wonderful opportunities that he wouldn’t otherwise have almost anywhere else in the country.

But enough about Cole and my extended hiatus from blogging.
We came home Thursday evening for a long weekend before heading back to the studio. For the first time ever I was able to attend Penn’s ISR swim lessons, which started Monday. He is doing great and the instructor is just fantastic.
I’m so glad we committed to this for the next 6 weeks. It can be rough doing anything every weekday, especially with a 36 minute drive each way, but ISR has done wonders for our first three kids. I can’t wait to see how far Penn progresses!
And yes. We *are* those lunatic parents who plan to put their 2 year old on the swim team next year. #unrealisticexpectations
Not to be outdone by her siblings’ endeavors, Zella surprised us and decided she *might* want to try walking independently after all. It took over four and a half years to get to this point, but finally #ZellaWalks.
Zella starts school at Apparo Academy on August 5th and we are thrilled she will get to hone her walking skills at this amazing therapy facility in our own backyard here in Augusta.
