Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin: $7.29 |
I tried the Goody Spin Pin immediately once I opened up my voxbox – to my utter shock I was pleasantly surprised to find that these two little pins really DO hold up even my crazy hair! I’m pretty happy to know that now I have a slightly less “mom” hair option than my stereotypical pony tail. Now if I could just get a shower in EVERY single day…
Next up on the chopping block was the NYC Individual Eyes shadow compact. First I have to say that I have pretty much altogether STOPPED using eye makeup in general…that includes shadows, liners, and mascaras. Why? Because it is just one (or more) extra step(s) for me in the morning and that doesn’t really fly with a three year old, a one year old, and a 25 week old babe in-utero for that matter. I was pleasantly surprised with these shadows, though, mostly because they came with a primer AND highlighter all in one compact. The applicator was simply a sponge, and if you have ever tried to apply layers of eyeshadow with a sponge applicator, you realize how difficult the entire process becomes…that said, I recommend using one of your good brushes for this baby. Colors looked GREAT – nice amount of shimmer, but in no way did you resemble one of the cast of Real Housewives of New Jersey…although I will admit I do love me some glitter… Staying power for this shadow is not nearly as great as MAC, but for a bargain brand, it holds up pretty well.
The most recent product I have tried out is the White Barn candle. Initially upon inspecting…errr…sniffing it, I was thinking “woah buddy…this is what we call sickeningly sweet,” but I decided to burn the sucker anyway. In fact, it is burning as we speak. The aroma? Pretty great actually. It smells like gingerbread cookies are baking in my oven…of course I’ve never actually made gingerbread cookies, but it is what I would imagine this scenario to smell like. I already have a few other White Barn candles here at the house and have loved them for a long time, so I didn’t need a hard sell on this one…
I’m hoping to try out the last few items in my beauty voxbox soon and will be sure to update you once I do 😀
